Ooo! This is the perfect example of a dog-trot house, which were extremely common in the rural South up until the 1930s. It's a dog-trot because of the open space between the two rooms. The airflow served as a naturally cooling system. Also a great way to seperate yourself from the kids when they win too many rounds of DDR against you.
